Privacy Policy

BioWave ("we", "us") runs the ocean guide and crew community at biowave.fun. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.

What we collect

• Account info you give us — your name, email and username.
• What you save and share — favourite species and dive spots, logbook entries and sighting photos.
• Basic usage data — pages visited, approximate location and referring site — so we can see which guides are useful.
• Standard technical logs (IP address, browser type) used for security and troubleshooting.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data, or your logbook, to advertisers or data brokers.
• Sighting locations you share can be kept private — rare species spots are never shown publicly.

How we use it

Your account data runs your page and login. Usage data helps us decide which species and places to write about next. Technical logs help us keep the service reliable and secure.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that help us run BioWave (hosting, email delivery, payment processing on paid plans), and only as needed to provide the service. We don't share it for anyone else's marketing.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your logbook and sightings at any time. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by emailing us — once deleted, your account and its data are permanently removed.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in and to understand which pages are read. You can block cookies in your browser, though the page may work less well without them.
